Cassettes

I would love this as a poster.

These images are taken from Project C-90, an amazing resource for recordable cassettes, which I always love to vist.

I don’t use tapes anymore, but there was a time (looong ago) when I was pretty much addicted to them. Though price (I needed lots of tapes) and quality were important criterions, the design was always crucial to me.

For a long time my cassette of choice was the TDK SA 90. It was quite cheap and it sounded OK. And I pretty much liked the design: black with golden letters, classic typeface, a huge window so you could see the reels, everything rectangular. But then they started to redesign, added different fonts, more colours and finally they introduced really ugly shapes… Have a look at the decline of the SA 90:
